How Apps Have Changed the world of Advertising in Newspapers


      The world of advertising has changed significantly since the creation of apps. The world of apps has especially influenced newspaper advertising. The ads in apps have the ability of being more creative and content rich, provided such things as games or videos as ads. Print advertising is a one-way street, offering minimal creativity when compared to app advertising.
      A study conducted by Kantar Media Custom found that, “while a full page ad was considered equally eye-catching as an interactive iPad app, the content rich iPad advertising outperformed print in three key areas: ‘like’, ‘entertainment’, and ‘informative’” (Mackay).
      Although this may be the case, app advertising has its downside. With technology on the rise and privacy issues becoming more apparent, advertisements are able to apply specifically to you. Ad companies are able to take in data on you and target you with specific advertisements. This is how advertising has evolved. Lots of people are worried about their privacy; others however enjoy it. Many would rather see an ad applicable to them then one that has no relation at all.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Will Boost Mobile Advertising


      In recent news, the Galaxy S4 smart phone is out, and boy what a day it is for phone based marketers. All phone marketers should be excited about new smart phones coming out simply because it lowers the amount of feature phones. Smart phones ability to access the web at faster speeds along with sharing capabilities makes for a phone marketers dreamland.
      The Iphone 5 caused an increase in phone usage and phone users and the Galaxy S4 is expected to do the same. Mobile phones are becoming a preferred way for companies to establish a relationship with their consumers because of mobile phones ability to personalize and localize with consumers.
      Therefore The Galaxy S4 smart phone is expected to create a real stir for app advertisers because of its new features such as its eye-tracking interface. With new apps comes new app advertisements.

Forms of Social Network Advertising

Last blog about Social network advertising we talked about the four major reasons why advertising is popular  on social networks.  This blog We are going to discuss the three major forms of social network advertising.

The first form of social network advertising is advertising based on friends.  Take for example you purchase some music online and it tells you that your friend purchased a certain song hoping that you will then purchase that song too.  This form of social network advertising is highly effective.

Anther form is advertising based on networking cite.  These are the ads that you would see surrounding a page of whichever social network you are on.  A popular example would be the ads to the side of your news feed when you get on Facebook.

The last form of social network advertising is advertising based on different groups or pages.  Facebook is a great example for this form as well.  On Facebook when a company creates a page for users to like is a example of this form.  Companies use this form because it allows them to spread brand awareness or show off new products.  This form also is a highly effective method.
